Fertilization

Spring, summer, fall and winter – your lawn needs proper nutrition throughout the year. Knowing what fertilizers and when to apply them can be the difference between having an inconsistent, lackluster lawn and a healthy, green dense lawn.

Weed Control

Do you know the difference between chick weed and chicory? Are the techniques for controlling Bermuda grass the same as those for henbit? Is spring the correct time to treat both crab grass and spurge? What about all of those different chemicals?

With a variety of weeds invading our area throughout the year, it is very easy to feel confused and overwhelmed when it comes to weed control.

Grub and Insect Control

Thick, green lawns are not only attractive to humans. Many insects love to claim resident status in your lush turf. But which insects are beneficial and which can be detrimental to your beautiful lawn? How do you go about protecting the constructive insects and eliminating the harmful pests?

Core Aeration

Just like humans, soil needs to breath. Aeration is the natural process by which air moves in and out of the soil. Core Aeration is the mechanical process of removing cores of soil “plugs” from the turf to help increase air movement.

There are many benefits to having your lawn core aerated:

  • Better water absorption.
  • More efficient use of fertilizer.
  • Allowing grass to build stronger roots.
  • Faster thatch decomposition.
  • Turf is more resilient. Soil that has been de-compacted by core aeration is less susceptible to damage from heavy usage.

Core aeration is recommended once (fall) or twice (spring & fall) a year depending on the lawn and its level of compaction.

Power Seeding

Almost all great looking lawns have dense lush turf. Proper turf density helps to minimize weeds, reduce drought and heat stress and increase color uniformity. Power seeding is an excellent way to thicken the turf in those thin or bare areas.

Lawn Renovation

Are weeds the only source of green in your lawn? Have drought and heat stress brought your turf to its knees? Does your lawn look like a patch quilt made up of several different grasses? If any of these scenarios sound familiar, then a lawn renovation is most likely the best solution to your problem. Using a non-selective herbicide to remove all of the existing weeds and grasses, provides a “blank slate” on which to build a beautiful healthy lawn.
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Treatment

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Treatment

The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is devastating ash trees. Over 15% of the trees in the Louisville area are ash and are susceptible to the Emerald Ash Borer.

If you have an ash tree in your lawn, you really only have two options:
    1) Leave it be, wait until the Emerald Ash Borer invades your tree, watch your beautiful tree die, spend $1500.00+ to have your tree removed, and then spend another $300.00+ to have a new tree installed.
    2) Start treatments to protect your beautiful tree from the EAB infestation.

EAB treatments are not for uninfected trees only! Many infected trees, with over 60% decline, have shown great improvement after treatments, and are thriving today.
